Tooth was filed down too much and is now sensitive to cold and heat. What can I do?

I chipped my front tooth and had to get a fake tooth but one of my bottom teeth was hitting my fake tooth and my dentist filed it down so it wouldn't hit anymore after a week I bit into food and it hurt and I had to be careful while brushing my teeth, after a few days it didn't hurt when I bit food now but my tooth is now a bit sensitive to the cold I am so worried that I will have to get another fake tooth because this dentist filed down my tooth too much please help !!!

Your tooth might be hitting high and need to be adjusted, or you may have a nerve problem in the tooth which would mean a root canal.  Find a dentist to confirm.

If you do have sensitivity on the tooth, see your dentist. Depending on how much the tooth was filed down to adjust your bite, generally speaking, desensitizing the tooth with your dentist, helps a lot, or ask your dentist to seal it after desensitizing your tooth,.In some cases dental bonding helps vs veneers or crowns.

It should get better with time. If you want to speed up the process, try using some sensydne toothpaste.
