I am 6 weeks post vaser. My healing was going very well and the results were fantastic. I am still wearing the garment but my 4d compression belt broke. I am trying to get a new belt. I suddenly swelled up, you can see from these pictures. Do you think this would have compromised my final results? I am hoping with a tighter garment and a new 4d foam vest they I will go back to normal?
Answer: Swelling is probably normal. You may have some 'rebound ' swelling after losing your garment. Check with your doctor to make sure that you don't have a seroma. That would best be treated with aspiration. Otherwise, lymphatic massage, or another garment, or perhaps something gentler like spanx could help.

Answer: Swelling after Vaser liposuction Thank you for providing photos for reference! 6 weeks is too soon because some swelling and bruising may persist up to 8 weeks. It varies greatly between patients. Final #results can usually be seen 2-4 months later as the swelling continues to diminish and contours become more defined, but improvement will continue for 4–6 months as swelling and irregularities resolve. These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. Circumferential pressure is recommended for 4-6 weeks, but you may switch to an exercise garment (Lycra or Spandex) whenever it feels comfortable to slip it on or off, as you will have to do so in order to go to the bathroom. You should get a replacement for your garment as soon as possible if you are more comfortable wearing one. I hope your concern was addressed. Best of luck! #RealSelf100

Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy With Your Compression It is very common to have bruising and swelling for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. My patients start treatments right away and it improves the long term results. Speak to your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Swelling after liposuction While the great majority of swelling has usually settle down by six weeks final results take 3 to 6 months.I ask my patients to wear compression garments for two weeks and longer if they find them helpful.I don't believe it compression garments have any impact on final outcomes. They can keep swelling down during the healing process.Swelling is our bodies response to inflammation and is part of normal healing.Healing simply takes time after liposuction. You should look forward to it improvements with time and if you found wearing the compression to be helpful I see no reason why you could not continue to do so.Always a good idea to check in with your plastic surgeon if you have concerns about your procedure or your results.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
