Wanted to find out if I will be ok without anyone to help me after I have had my breast reduction surgery?

Breast reduction pain is usually relatively mild.  Generally, recovery requires one to two weeks.  You do not want to do anything strenuous or that requires you to bend or stretch.  Being uncomfortable at 5 days is the rule.  You should notice improvement each day.Prepare your meals ahead of time (protein shakes are highly recommended for wound recovery). Have pillows and your couch or recliner prepared for your return from surgery.  It would be best if you could have a friend be with you the first 24 hours while you are on pain medication.  While you may be permitted to shower a few days after surgery, you will probably need help getting dressed, as you will not have full range of motion in your chest and shoulders at first. Although an extra set of hands is nice to have, it's not completely necessary. You should have someone with you the night after surgery, and maybe for a few hours the next morning.   With a bit of preparation, you can ensure your recuperation is comfortable and easy. Prepare and freeze some meals in advance so that you can simply heat and eat them. Pick up your prescriptions before your surgery day so they're waiting for you, and arrange for transportation home after surgery. Bathing and using the bathroom by yourself shouldn't be a problem. Avoid any activities that require you to bend over or lift anything heavier than a few pounds. Hired help, such as a housekeeper, can be invaluable during the first week of your recuperation. Additionally, don't drive while you're using prescription pain medication. If you must go out, use a cab or ridesharing service. Best of luck to you.

Breast reduction doesn't give that much of a handicap post-op although your chest and shoulder areas are most affected. This means for the first few weeks you shouldn't do anything strenuous and you shouldn't lift heavy objects. You will also have a hard time dressing.
