I find my face very strange and unappealing. I feel upset always when I see a photograph. I have been told my bite is aligned, I do not have any dental problems. I have also read that a long midface is difficult to alter. But I really do not like my face and would like a change. Is there anything that can be done? Assuming you are not a candidate for orthognathic surgery based on an orthodontically corrected bite, a vertical chin reduction would be of benefit. You refer to it as a sliding genioplasty but it is more accurately called a wedge reduction bony genioplasty for vertical chin shortening.
