I had lipo done about a year ago I was around 130 lb before and around 130 lb now. (I'm 5'4) I'm curious if I lost about ten pounds, would my results look weird or is it unsafe to lose that much weight after lipo based on my weight?
Answer: Addressing Concerns About Weight Loss After Liposuction Firstly, congratulations on maintaining your weight after liposuction. Your decision to potentially lose more weight is a personal one, and it's commendable that you're considering how it might impact your previous surgical results. Generally speaking, weight loss after liposuction should not negatively affect your results or make them look "weird." When liposuction is performed, fat cells in the treated area are permanently removed. Therefore, weight loss after the procedure should ideally occur in other areas of your body where fat cells remain. The overall effect could be a more refined and balanced body contour. That said, it's important to note that everyone's body responds a bit differently to weight loss, and factors such as skin elasticity, age, and general health can influence your results. Therefore, it's always recommended to consult with your own plastic surgeon or a healthcare provider to discuss your specific circumstances before making any significant changes to your diet or exercise regimen. They can provide guidance tailored to your personal health history and surgical outcomes. Safety is always the top priority, and losing 10 pounds based on your current weight does not sound extreme or unsafe. However, it's crucial to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable manner, focusing on balanced nutrition and regular exercise rather than drastic dieting. Thank you for your question, and I wish you the best of luck on your continued body contouring journey! Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Weight loss Weight loss of ten pounds should not significantly impact your liposuction results. Major weight loss or gain could affect results, but ten pounds should not. We always encourage patients to maintain a healthy weight that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise.
