Juvederm Ultra is used to treat lines and foldsthat are mild to moderately deep, whereas Juvederm Ultra Plus is for deeperlines and folds. It's more the concern you'd like to have addressed rather than what is considered "softer".
Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus are both hyaluronic acid fillers used to provide volume to areas of the face or lips. Juvederm Ultra is meant for more superficial lines or folds and doesn’t give as much volume as Juvederm Ultra Plus. Both products work well in the lips and depending on the volume wanted would dictate which product to use. Both fillers last up to 12 months and deliver soft smooth results. There is also a new filler, Vobella, which is used to treat the fine lines and wrinkles above the lip. In my practice I sometimes combine the two. Juverderm Ultra or Ultra Plus to the body of the lip to provide structure and volume and Vobella to the upper lip to soften the lines and wrinkles. Best of luck. Dr. Kaniff
Ultra plus is a thicker version so it tends to be better infilling out deeper lines and folds. Speak with your doctor to see which isbetter for you.
Juvederm Ultra has a smaller particle size than Juvederm Ultra Plus and is used more superficially in such areas as around the eyes whereas Juvederm Ultra Plus is used in deeper areas such as the to fill in the deep jowl defects. The Juvederm Ultra Plus tends to last longer.
As the other physicians answered, the products differ in their density/concentration. Juvederm Ultra Plus is best used for deeper areas such as deep nasolabial folds, deep marionette lines, cheek plumping, etc. Juvederm Ultra is best used for more superficial lines, in these same areas plus lip lines, cheek lines and also for lip augmentation. Juvederm Ultra Plus can also be used for lip augmentation but should only be used by a very experienced injector in this area.
Ultra plus is a thicker material then the Ultra, so it is a little firmer and is designed for deeper injections. The Ultra is a smoother, softer product that does well for the lips, nasolabial folds that are not too severe, and finer wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, etc.
Juvederm Ultra is typically preferred for injection into the lips whereas the Ultra Plus is recommended for deeper injection. This is quite similar the the difference between Restylane and Perlane.
Juvederm Ultra-plus is meant to be injected into deeper tissue planes than Juvederm Ultra. Juvederm Ultraplus may provide a stiffer feel than Juverm Ultra but depending on your tissue volume needs you may be a candidate for.both.
Juvederm Ultra and Ultra plus are very similar. I have found Ultra plus to last longer. Both do very well in the lips. Always seek treatment from a qualified physician.
Great question! Both attract water & cause swelling (hydrophilic). If considering lips, Juvederm Ultra produces more plump yet natural looking softer fuller “kissable” lips. Juvederm Ultra plus lasts a few months longer. Both are great & highly versatile products for lips, nasolabial folds & other areas.
You did not mention when you had the injections? If you had them recently, then more than likely the swelling will subside in a few days. If you notice swelling persisting, this may be due to the chemical breakdown of the product which occurs through water absorption.
You should speak with yoru doctor about what he wants you to do if the filler is a bit lumpy. SOme will recommend that you do it, while others may have you come in.
Hi, All of the treatments that you have asked about (IPL, Chemical Peel, & Microdermabrasion) are superficial and should not go deep enough to affect your Juvederm. I would recommend waiting at least until your swelling and redness resolve from your Juvederm injections...
