Half of my crooked tooth is directly behind the central right incisor which is actually a crown. My canine tooth is protruding at my gums and I wanted to know if it can be fixed so that all my teeth looks even. My dentist said that these two would have to be fixed with braces. I know that its the bet option but I really want to avoid it. Can someone please help me? Thank you.
Answer: Canine tooth
The canine is one of the most important teeth we have because it ideally gives us a guide of how our jaw moves laterality, this prevents damage to our TMJ (temporo mandubular joint) and this is one thing you want to avoid.
I would definitively advice you to do a consult with a orthodontist, you will probably have to remove the 1st bicuspid(tooth distal to the canine) in order for this one to thai its correct place and the lateral to come in to its ideal place, but you would need a full orthodontic work up to determine this.
You seem to be very young, consider this a life investment since this will help you throughout your entire life, to do something for esthetics that cna give you problems in the future is not worth it.

Answer: Fixing severely crooked teeth without braces
Although many dentists will recommend orthodontics (braces) as a first choice for your particular situation, there are many patients like yourself who can also be treated with another technique that doesn't require braces at all. Cosmetic dentists often call this different technique of straightening crooked teeth without braces as "instant orthodontics", although it actually is not orthodontics, rather cosmetic dentistry.
I used this technique when I treated Brooks Ayers, the boyfriend of Vickie on the reality show "The Real Housewives of Orange County." Your upper left lateral incisor is in cross bite, and is just as much a problem as your canine tooth that sticks out. In Brooks' case, he wasn't willing to have braces either, especially if it was going to take him 12-24 months to correct. So, the technique we used was to extract the tooth in cross bite (in your case your upper left lateral incisor), and then place an EMax all-porcelain bridge. Brooks got his new smile in just under one month's time.
Look at the web reference below and you can see the beautiful results we achieved. However in Brooks' case, we did several veneers in addition to the all-porcelain bridge. You wouldn't necessarily have to do that unless you wanted to change the shape, position and color of some of your other teeth.

Answer: Good advise
I would listen to your dentist. His recommendation is spot on. Either braces or Invisalign would work in your case.
