Light Brown Tattoo turning red? (photo)

Hello Mparseg. Your tattoo is oxidizing. This means that when the laser interacts with the ink, it causes it to change color (similar to "rusting"). Typically this happens with permanent makeup and not tattoos, but it depends on the type of ink that was used.The good news is that red is a fairly straightforward color to treat with an Nd:Yg laser and the color should come out using the 532 wavelength. Looks like just a couple more treatments should do it. Good luck.

Thank you for your question and the photos. I agree with other's comments. Your laser tattoo removal treatments appear to be working. The redness is likely some residual oxidized pigment combined with red, fragile skin that's been beat up by the Laser.For my clients, after the first 3-4 treatments, we start to space the treatments out to 8-12 weeks to give the skin time for the redness to fade and to give time for the body's lymphatics to carry the pigment away.You seem to be making good progress. It does take a long time and can be frustrating.I hope this helps.
