Lisping bridge! Can these issues be solved with more shaving down of the bridge? (Photo)

Hello there,Changes in the length, shape and position of the front teeth can have an effect on your speech. Sometimes getting used to your new bridge just takes some time.  However, restorations that are too thick or too long can also cause a lisp.  Your dentist may need to make another quick adjustment to fix this issue.  It's always important to look at before and after photos when selecting your dentist. Thank you for your inquiry and time in submitting your photo.  Anytime you do a restoration, it could alter your speech since it's something new in your month and even the smallest change may cause you to have to "re-train" your tongue and how to speak and enunciate.  If a restoration is bigger than your original tooth, this could affect your speech.  An adjustment could make it better but your tongue may need time to adjust.  We would you recommend if you're feeling it's bulky and think your speech is being affected, give it more time - once porcelain is removed it cannot be replaced without replacing the entire bridge so try to be conservative.  We hope this helps and wish you all the best!
