Is it peculiar to have a buccal fat removal for only one side of the face? (Photos)

Great question!  Our faces are naturally asymmetric from one side to the other so its normal to have these flaws.  With that said, yes often times there is a larger buccal fat pad on one side than the other which could cause more fullness on that larger side.  I wouldn't necessarily say you have a "fat" face, it actually looks slim, but it would be best to have a consultation so that your exact issues are addressed to make sure that a buccal fat removal is what is best for you.Best of luck and hope this information helps!- Dr. Roger Tsai  @DrRogerTsaiBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Patients with asymmetric chubby cheeks, when one looks normal size and the other looks quite chubby could undergo buccal fat removal on one side (unilateral buccal fat removal).I commonly perform buccal fat removal only in one side of the face in selected cases. This, has allowed the patient to achieve a more symmetrical facial look. 

I have done it a handful of times unilaterally. Typically we do bilaterally and adjust the amount we sculpt on the more prominent side. 
From your photos (thanks for the multiple angles) you look like a good candidate. I would recommend also planning to do some filler to address the underlying boneyt contour issues.

I don't see much asymmetry in the photos so I would suggest an in person consultation. It's not abnormal to want only one side reduced but what I do is look at you and see if the asymmetry is from the buccal fat pad or not. Theoretically if it is and you have more fat on one side then removing both sides would solve that. It the asymmetry is from your bony structure then you can fix it will unilateral lipectomy or fillers.
