Do I need liposuction after my tummy tuck 6 months ago?

I had a full tummy tuck 6 months ago and feel my stomach isn't as flat as it should be. I also have a "ledge" directly above the scar and some weird squishy spots underneath it (feels different than the hard scar tissue in other spots). So I'm wondering if I need lipo or a revision to get the results I'm really after.

Do not worry about your final result just yet because it is too soon to tell what your final outcome will be. The swelling can last up to a year.  You might be a good candidate for BodyTite which does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues.  It can be combined with liposuction to improve contours dramatically.  Results can be seen immediately after one treatment and are more evident over three to six months post-treatment. It is impossible to give you good advise without in person evaluation or series of good photos. In genera,l you should wait approximately 1 year for result to mature and stabilize. At that point you should discuss your concerns with a surgeon and decide whether and what kind of revision may be needed. Good luck.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination, but if the problem is fat tissues, then liposuction should give good results. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Hello!I believe that sometimes you may need to wait to see final results. Have you gained weight recently?Have you worn your garment  religiously? This could be swelling or residual fat or fluid (less likeley)  Let the areas heal and shrink. Watch extra calories and wear your garment. !Thank you!TTJ

Your issues could just be normal swelling, or you could have what is known as a seroma or fluid collection. Excess fat could also be an issue. You will need an in-person exam, preferably by your surgeon, to sort these issues out.

I am sorry to hear about your concerns after tummy tuck surgery.  It is too early to evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed. My best advice: wait until you are about one year post tummy tuck surgery.  Generally, it takes many months for swelling to resolve after tummy tuck surgery and it may take up to one year (or greater) for complete skin redraping to occur. Until then, focus on attention to a healthy diet and exercise program.  
Communicate your concerns and goals directly with your plastic surgeon.  If, in the longer-term you still have the same concerns, excision of redundant skin/tissue and/or additional liposuction surgery may be helpful. Of course, much will depend on your physical examination and concerns at that point.
