I got a mole cut out yesterday and I’m quite swollen, is this normal? (Photos)

I went to a medspa and got it done by a PA everyone told me he was amazing at sutures which they do look good but my lip is so swollen I have had previous injections and wondering if the lidocaine effected or messed with my injections. I have been icing and staying elevated and taking arnica and ibuprofen. These photos are 17 hours after. The doctor keeps saying it’s normal but it’s not going down.

Thank you for your question and photograph. In my experience, if there are cells left over from the mole after a biopsy, then the mole can return over time, which is to be expected. If you continue to be concerned about the area, then I highly recommend you consult with your dermatologist sooner...

It takes a scar about a full year to be at its final outcome, so please be patient with your scars.  We recommend a scar cream such as Mederma or Scar Guard after the skin gets a pink new surface.  You should avoid sun and use a good sunscreen also.  If you are still not...

When I shave moles It generally takes two weeks for the skins to completely heal. At this time you can begin wearing make up over it. There may still be some color mismatch which will correct over months. When I excise a mole it also generally takes about two weeks to completely heal....
