I am thinking of Picosure for skin rejuvenation. When I do the search, I am not sure about the pre and post treatment. I understand that no sun exposure is a must. However, some added that there should be no washing face, no moisturizer, no sauna, no alcohol and no vigorous exercises for a couple of days also. Is this true?
Answer: PicsoSure amazing Hi! PicoSure is simply an amazing laser for skin rejuvenation. You shouldn't get any invasive facial treatments before your procedure (such as microneedling or peels), and stop all Retinol/retin-A one week before the laser. Afterwards, the social downtime is very minimal. You may experience some redness and mild swelling for about 24 hours. Keep your face cool during that time. Sunscreen is always a must and especially important after the laser. You can resume your daily activities but i don't recommend sitting at the beach or pool, hiking ... any activity that will expose you to the sun for a prolonged period of time. Of course you can wash your face (with gentle, boring cleanser such as cetaphil). Keeping your face moisturized is a must... i like Avene's Cicalfate post procedure emulsion. It's gentle, soothing and healing. I recommend that for 7 days along with diligent application of mineral sunscreen. After 7 days, you can resume all normal skincare regimen. You can resume exercise after 24 hours. Best,Dr. Huo

Answer: I can see how it can be confusing if you do a Google search on post treatment with Picosure I can see how it can be confusing if you do a Google search on post treatment with Picosure, and that is because it was originally used mostly for tattoo removal. While avoiding sun exposure as much as possible (and using a good sunblock) is important, the other post treatment recommendations you list only apply for tattoo removal which can cause blisters (so you would want to avoid anything that might break the blisters like exercise or vigorous washing etc. When Picosure is used fornskin rejuvenation there is practically no downtime! Your skin may be a little red afterwards but this quickly fades, and you can go to the gym, wash your face and have a glass of wine afterwards!

Answer: Picosure laser is excellent everyone is different but the Picosure laser can do a great job improving your facial skin!!! you should plan at least 3 sessions, each done one month apart. everyone is different - my wife needed 4 treatments and in addition to treating her face, also did her neck, chest and the back of her hands. she had a ton is discoloration due to sun damage.i am not sure where you are getting your crazy post laser ideas. you do need to use a good sun block but you can be outdoors. you should stop all active agents for 3 days before a Picosure laser session. You can of course wash your face, drink wine, exercise, etc. There is little to no downtime which is one of its great appeals. david berman md
