Hi, You are certainly a candidate for an intragastric balloon (including Orbera and Obalon) if you had a baby 6 months ago, as long as you are not still breastfeeding. If you are, we would need to wait until you have fully weaned. Otherwise, this would potentially be an excellent way to kickstart a post-partum weight loss program. It is also worth mentioning that we would recommend using a form of contraception while the balloon is in place as well, so as to avoid getting pregnant during the 6 month treatment. Hope that helps!
Gastric Balloon is contraindicated for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are no longer breastfeeding, then you may be an appropriate candidate. See your Bariatric Team to make sure you qualify.

Guidelines otherwise include a body mass index between 30-40 and the absence of any pathology or previous surgery in the stomach or esophagus, large hiatal hernia or severe gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Hi, The Orbera balloon costs an average of $6500 to $9000, depending on where you live and the practice performing the procedure. The specific cost is dictated by the cost of the balloon, the cost of the endoscopic procedures, and local market factors. Keep in mind that the Orbera balloon is...
