Thank you for your question. When it comes to scarring on the face, I typically start around 500 microns. This of course depends on the type of scarring. At 200 microns, that is fairly shallow and do not think it will make that much of a difference for scarring.
The Profractional laser goes up to 1500 microns deep. 200 microns is about the thickness of 2 post-it notes, ie shallow. Most of the time 400-800 micron range is needed. I usually start at 400-500 and increase the depth each visit for a total of 2-4 treatments, depending on severity.Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Carmela Pettigrew, MD
At 200 microns this is still considered shallow for scars. It is only twice the thickness of the epidermis or upper layer of your skin. Depending on the severity of your scars and your skin type, we often go to 400- 800 + microns or beyond. All the best, and be guided by your dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Lasers in combination with microneedling/PRP, peels, and skin care all do great to treat fine lines under the eyes. Best, Dr. Emer.
