I don't smile in pictures I have always taken very good care of my teeth but I think it is in genetics I would like to have nice white not chipped teeth so I can actually smile and have more confidence in my appearance. Its just my two front teeth I'm concerned about my tooth chipped in the front and one of my front tooth is dead I had a root canal when I was young.I was told by a general dentist to keep seeing just a general dentist but I think I need more than that.

Answer: Chipped and discolored front teeth I completely understand your dilemma. The appearance of our two front teeth is so very important to our appearance, and if you are not smiling because of those teeth, it must be affecting how you are received by others and in turn affecting your happiness. So fix those teeth but first identify the cause of the chipping. You may need some minor orthodontics to tip those teeth forward so that they do not tap when chewing. In dental terms this is called an interference with the envelop of function. Then most likely place a porcelain veneer on the one tooth and a full ceramic crown on the tooth that received the root canal. Best color match is when the veneer is done first and then the crown done separately because the porcelain is supported by completely different understructures and light will penetrate through the porcelain and bounce off of whatever is beneath. Of course to give you the best answer seeing a photograph and x-ray would be most helpful.
