Hair fall - is my thyroid level in a normal range?

I am a female of age 24..i have hair fall issue i tested my thyroid level which is 2.4.... Is it a normal range

Hello,

A TSH level of  2.4 mIU/L  is considered normal by many clinical standards; however, it would be a mistake to attribute your hair loss to thyroid disease based solely on this single value.

Hair loss especially in women can have multiple causes. In addition to thyroid tests, it would be beneficial to have the following levels checked:

Iron (Fe), TIBC (Total Iron-Binding Capacity)
Complete Blood Count (CBC)
Vitamin D3
Zinc (Zn)
Vitamin B12
Free T3, Free T4

All of these results should be evaluated by a doctor experienced in treating hair loss, and a treatment plan should be devised based on the underlying cause.

Hello and thank you for your question. A thyroid imbalance can cause hair loss. There are various thyroid tests so I'm not certain which test you had and what the 2.4 is referring to. I suggest discussing this further with your doctor. Best wishes to you.

Thyroid function tests include multiple test which are thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), FT3, FT4. In order to interpret the result, all of the panels are required. Please seek for further medical advices with your local doctors or endocrinologist.
However, abnormal thyroid hormone level could cause hair loss either hyperthyroid or hypothyroid.
