Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. There is a process of swelling that undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. You should wait until the swelling has gone down to start wearing tight jeans.
Hello m.angels, I appreciate your questions! Plastic surgeons have different post-operative care protocols, customized for every patient, to achieve the best final results. I typically suggest my patients to wear butt-out, specialized compression garments, 24 hours a day, for approximately 6 months to help their skin retract smoothly to their new body’s contours. Moreover, patients should ensure they have comfortable clothes to wear during Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) recovery at home. Have in mind that putting pressure on your buttocks by sitting down, laying on it or even wearing too tight clothing, especially for long periods of time, can stiffen, deform and even cause the transplanted fat cells to reabsorb. I recommend waiting at least 2-3 months before start wearing jeans and tight clothing after BBL surgery. However, consult with your aesthetic plastic surgeon about it as each case is different. Kind regards! Dr. De La Cruz.
Thank you for your question. Every plastic surgeon has their own unique post op recovery schedule. I recommend following your plastic surgeons recommendation for best results. You will receive a wide variety of instructions on forums like this, but still best to follow your own plastic surgeon’s guild lines. Best of luck with your recovery.
Congratulations on your recent surgery and thank you for sharing your question about your post operative recovery and results after your surgery. Final results can take 6-12 months for all the swelling to subside. At our office we actually see all of our surgery patients the very next day after surgery and then again at two weeks and beyond. We enjoy staying closely connected to our patients and enjoy giving the extra attention and service. Your concerns are important to discuss directly with your board certified plastic surgeon. He or she will appreciate the open communication and will want to help you. I hope this is helpful and wish you all the very best. Sincerely, Brian S. Coan, MD, FACS
