Laser tattoo removal, will these black/brown dots disappear when the tattoo is completely removed? (photo)

This can happen after any laser treatments but can happen after laser tattoo removal of colored ink and needs more sessions to get it to lighten again. Lightening creams and cosmelan can help.  I suggest seeing a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer.

Thanks for posting your question. Judging by your photos you have a two common seen issues with laser tattoo removal - hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. These are fancy words which describe a darkening or lightening of the skin. The brown areas are likely hyperpigmentation - possible also some untreated ink. The light areas, or hypopigmentation often occur in areas where red ink was treated. With time much of this should resolve on it's own. Some additional treatments to finish removing the ink will help as well. Best of luck, Dr. M

Thanks for posting the photos. Usually when I see dots they are hair follicles and the laser just isn't hitting those spots like is the rest of the skin. With repeated treatments you should be able to clear those up. If they aren't the follicle then it could be some pigment alteration from the lasering. It's hard to tell from the photos. Best of luck.
