Sick before breast reduction help. How can I still go forward with surgery?

It's April 6th and I have a breast reduction surgery April 21st... I just got a viral infection typical cough stuffy nose on and off and sore throat... I seen a Dr she said it's viral and should go away but to wait it out...I don't want it to postpone my surgery..I'm scared it's strep throat they tested me for it but it came back negative but I have the white dots on my tonsils. ..if it just is viral would t they still proceed with surgery I have preop today..Any Suggestions On getting rid of this?

I would postpone your surgery until you're fully recovered- to avoid post-op complications. Make sure you let your Board Certified PS know what's going on.

You should let your surgeon know immediately so that they are aware and let your surgeon make the call for your surgery. You and your surgeon, both do not want any post op complications and it should be a decision you make with your doctor! Good luck

It is impossible to guide you without a consultation. In my practice I would perform a preop assessment a week before and if there were concerns I would arrange a consult with my anaesthetist. You are still a couple of weeks away and this may settle of its own accord. If things don't settle and there is any increased risk of proceeding it is best to postpone - but hopefully all will resolve.
