Is it safe to get laser liposuction on my back where my spinal fusion is?

Question

I've had a spinal fusion for three years now, due to my scoliosis. Ever since the fat on my back has been oddly uneven. I plan on getting laser lipo instead of regular lipo so I don't cause as much pain to my back area and to be gentle I wanted to know if it was safe overall?

yes depending on what was done, I suggest going to an expert and someone who uses vaser as this area can have a lot of scar tissue and fibrosis post surgery.  Best, Dr. Emer.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, rods and screws are placed under the muscle so they should not prevent you from getting liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Without at least posting pictures it’s hard to tell if you’re a candidate for liposuction or not. Laser liposuction is simply regular liposuction with a secondary laser treatment done either before or after the actual Liposuction. It does not make the liposuction less invasive, lessen the pain or speed up the recovery. In fact it really doesn’t do a whole lot of anything.

Instead of trying to figure these things out on your own I suggest you simply have a few in person consultations well you can talk to plastic surgeons about treatment options.

Yes, you can safely have this area treated with Lipo. You need an experienced surgeon familiar with both the anatomy and the procedure performed on this area in the past. I prefer VASER which allows a gentler approach and better sculpting in my hands.
