Will air injected into dermis when dissolving filler need to be removed?

Hi, if air was injected into my cheeks when dissolving filler, and now I feel as though it has gathered in my under eye area of that cheek will that air go away on its own, or will I have to get it removed? Thank you

Hi, if air got injected under the skin, it should dissipate rather quickly. It is not dangerous to have air in your skin, you will not get an air embolism, that only happens if the air is injected into your blood vessel.

Hi eternalrose, the air that was injected will get absorbed over time. When there is air under the skin it can feel like “rice crispies” when you press down. If there was a small bubble when the hyaluronidase was injected, you may have heard a bible sound, but it is most likely very small and you may not feel anything under the skin. Regardless over time air will get absorbed into the blood stream and you will breathe it out. Hope this helps. Good luck. Best, Dr. Yang
