Is bonding an option for my peg laterals? No crowns or veneers at this point. (photos)

Question

I have peg laterals and I'm looking for a temporary fix for a year or two. Altogether, I need braces and then double jaw surgery, I would like for my teeth to be a bit more aesthetically pleasing while I'm going through all of that. I'm 29 and I've had to live with misshapen teeth for over 15 years. It's embarrassing quite frankly. I'm not concerned with paying for bonding and then turning around and paying for veneers. I want a simple fix now.

Bonding matching tooth colored plastic is perfect for peg laterals.  It will last and improve your smile until you can do other treatment in the future.  Interview your dentist and have them show you some of the cases they have done.  Pick a dentist who has done this before.  You can even do a mock up to look at how you will look if you want.You will be so thrilled with the results!  Much success and fun!  It can also help when deciding your orthodontic treatment.

If your bite and movement of your teeth do not interfere with bonding your peg laterals to look natural it is o.k.   However, be aware that proper movement of your teeth may mean that alterations to shape and width may be needed from time to time. Your orthodontist or ortho treating dentist should be able to advise you as to cost and any need to alter as you go along. Great plan!!

Sounds like you have come up with a good long term plan for your health and your appearance, so congratulations. Yes, bonding can work for now to improve the appearance of those peg laterals. There may be some limitations as to how much can be done depending on your bite. For example, it looks like your right one may tuck behind the lower tooth when you bite together. If that is the case,it may not be able to be bonded to bring it out more, but it probably can be widened to help fill in the space. Find a dentist who focuses on bonding and cosmetic dentistry and talk to them about what can be done.Good luck1

First of all congratulations on having your work done.  I think you will be thrilled with the outcome.  Yes, bonding can be applied to your lateral incisors.  Find a good, cosmetic dentist to perform this as it can really effect your gums if done badly.  Good luck with everything!
