Hello, I attached a radiograph of my dental implant. I have a severe inflammation coming from the implant but my dentist said the crown and implant is perfectly fine. I'm not a doctor but according to me there are gaps between implant , the abutment and the crown. Could it be the source of the inflammation? Could you please share your opinion?

You can have implant surgery by the oral surgeon or periodontist and get implant abutment ( or custom abutment) and implant crown, done by a general dentist. In fact this is a great practice, since the surgeons have much more experience and can handle any unforeseen problems more easily than...
Hi:Unfortunately with root canal infection the infection will not go away with antibiotic in the long term. The source of the infection has to be treated in order to make sure the infection goes away. If the tooth is not cracked, Apicoectomy might be your best option at this point.Best,Dr. Maddahi
