Hi:Both lumineers and veneers are made out of porcelain.  Lumineers are much thinner and normally do not require much preparation on the tooth.  However if your teeth are in the right position, putting lumineers on them can make your teeth stick out and look unnatural.  With veneers the tooth is prepared prior to placement therefore it is a non reversible procedure.  For more accurate advice please post photo of your smile.Best,Dr. Maddahi
