Can I use whitening strips on my teeth with the cap?

Question

When i was younger i fell and broke my front tooth and had to get a cap on it. I was just wondering if i could use whitening strips or would that damage the cap

Whitening strips can alter the color of your natural teeth, however the crown color will not change, since the porcelain used in fabrication your crown, does not change color!Whitening strips does not damage the cap, however your other teeth can get whiter than your crown!

The tooth with the crown (cap) will not whiten with strips or professional whitening. Be cautious if you do choose to whiten your other teeth, that they continue to match the shade of your cap. If not, the cap will need to be replaced.

Hi:Whitening strip with peroxide is not recommended for dental restoration.  You can use Oral Essentials Whitening Strip which contains no peroxide on your caps.  Only the external staining can be removed.Best,Dr. Maddahi

You can still use white strips to whiten your natural teeth if you have a cap, it won't damage the cap but White strips or any other whitening product will not whiten any bondings, veneers, caps or fillings. Whitening products only whiten your natural tooth structure.
