Is it safe to have Emsella Chair treatment after mesh inserted?

Hi I've had rectopexy surgery with a biodegrable mesh but I think there was a metal tack used to pin the mesh to the sacral promontory. As this is a good distance from the pelvic floor would it still be a contraindication, the surgeon confirmed previously that its safe to have an MRI. Thanks so much for your answers

It is difficult to answer this question, however overall, I would say yes it is safe for you to use the Emsella chair. The sacral promontory is the highest/ most superior sacral vertebrae and the Emsella chair only penetrated as high up as 10 cm into the body. So even though the possible metal tack is present- and metal in the body is not advised- I would recommend using the Emsella. However, this should be discussed with your provider prior to treatment and even possibly an x-ray of the pelvis should be considered to see the exact location of the clip/tack.
