Removal of wire behind teeth... Any suggestions?

I got braces five years ago to close the gap in my front teeth and when they were removed I got a wire glued on the back of my front two teeth to keep them together. How long does this wire stay on or is it permenant ? The Teeth have not moved so is it necessary to have the wire on?

You need to have a consultation with an orthodontist in your area. It appears the bonded retainer, placed behind the upper 4 front teeth as you describe, has come off. You now have a relapse and need treatment again if you want straight teeth and a good bite. Retainers will just keep your teeth...

Orthodontics is a treatment not a cure, so you are correct in assuming that the teeth will continue to shift.  With the removable retainers you may run into the situation where your gap comes back a bit during the day and then closes back up again with the removable retainers.It sounds like you ...

The archwire does not need to be changed every appointment, especially if you have an appointment every 6-8 weeks. Each archwire size will last about 3-5 months, depending on the type of archwire used, i.e its composition. Most of the time you don't feel a lot of pressure during your treatment...
