Itchy skin that peeled and flaked off leaving some pink areas, could this result in scarring?

I had halo and bbl on Friday morning. I have been putting Cicalfate on 4-6 times per day and have gently washed my face each night. My face feels like sandpaper. Tonight my chin started to itch and flake. I gently itched it and skin flacked off and now it has some pink spots. Could this caused scaring?

The texture of your skin (feeling like sandpaper) is normal.  This can often last up to 10 days. As long as you keep the face moist until the MENDS (dark areas) are gone using Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream; as well as, applying sunscreen daily everything should be fine and scarring should not occur.  The pink area is new skin.  This needs to be protected to avoid hyperpigmentation.  Should you see any darkening of that area, I would address it with the treating provider to see what, if any treatment, they would recommend. It may take some additional time for that area to heal.

Hello,Thank you for your question. The pink tone you are seeing is the new, fresh skin forming under. You most likely flaked off some skin that was not ready to naturally fall off, however, I don't believe this will leave a scar. It's important to wear an SPF 50 daily as the new skin is surfacing and to keep your face out of sunlight. Wait a few weeks and if you don't see improvement I recommend returning to the service provider and having them assess the area. If you find your very itchy and uncomfortable you can take a non-drowsy antihistamine that can help relieve the itch.

Itchiness is a normal process of your face healing. Antihistamines can be taken to relieve the itchiness. It's normal for your skin to be pink underneath all those coffee grinds. It's best to keep moisturizing your face to avoid drying out. Also, wear sunblock when your skin is still pink. Nothing right now sounds alarming but you should always follow up with your laser provider if you have any concerns with the treatment.
