Invisalign and Black Triangles? (photo)

Question

After watching the clincheck video and beginning my treatment about a week ago I become worried about the animation that shows my top teeth will be moved outward to the point that there will be measurable gaps between my teeth before they are then brought back together. Can this process of moving teeth apart and creating a gap cause the LOSS or recession, or cause further recession of the interdental papilla? I'm beginning to think I should bail out as I already have beautiful teeth on top.

Sometimes, in order to make room for teeth, we move teeth BEYOND the goal.  After the other teeth line up, we can bring these teeth back to the final position.  Invisalign allows this (brackets and wires - not so much).If by some fluke black triangles remain after treatment, Bioclear can fill in the spaces.

Looking at your photos, I would try to assure you that dark triangles should not be a threat. Keep the surrounding soft tissues healthy with regular flossing and brushing and keep an eye on these tissues throughout your treatment. It is not uncommon to advance the front teeth to unlock their crowded neighbors or to improve overlapped teeth positions prior to "slenderizing". The key is to insure that the Clincheck closed any created spaces several aligners prior to the treatment conclusion. You should have a fabulous result. Good Luck!
