Is something wrong with my crown?

Question

I️ had a new crown installed 5 months ago and ever since I️ have had sharp pain when biting. I️ have been back to the dentist 5 times to get my bite adjusted. This last visit (#6) no bite adjustment needed, x-rays are fine and doctor prescribed antibiotics to see if it is my sinuses. I️ finished the antibiotics and the pain is not better when I️ nite. Would sinus problems cause a sharp pain only when I️ bite down? Or do I️ need a second opinion?

I suspect a fractured tooth. Although sinus infection/congestion can cause toothache it won't cause sharp pain upon biting. I think you need to see an endodontist to address the issue.

Hi:Normally sinus does not create sharp pain on biting.  I would recommend to check the nerve and make sure the bite is ok in all directions.  Also check for clenching or grinding pressure on the tooth.Best,Dr. Maddahi

You might have a small fracture in the tooth which, when is contacted, makes the tooth react that way. I would have you see an Endodontist ( root canal specialist) for an evaluation.
