I was told by one doctor online that these could not be improved. Could the scars on my thigh be excised to make a smaller less thick scar? What about laser or microdermabrasion for my arm?
Answer: Scars Thank you for your question. The CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment removes deeper layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. If you believe you may be a candidate for CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment, a qualified cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist can carefully analyze your skin and determine if the procedure is right for you.

Answer: Scars First, I hope that you are receiving help for your tendency to hurt yourself. That is the most important issue. It depends upon what you don't like about the scars. If it is the loss of pigment, that is very difficult, if not impossible to correct. It is important for you not to tan, since increased pigment in the skin around the scars will make the scars look even more noticeable. If it is the texture that you don't like, there are several options for improving that. These include kenalog (a mild steroid) injections, lasers and/or microneedling with PRP (protein rich plasma). I would recommend that you schedule a consultation with a physician who specializes in aesthetic medicine.Best of luck to you!

Answer: Yes! There is a treatment for this You should look into microneedling. This is a procedure where we create a controlled micro-incision all over a scarred area like this. It helps stimulate collagen and elastin production. This will help create new skin and will very effectively diminish the look of scars.
