Will getting an impression done for a new retainer pull out my crowns on my front teeth? (Photo)

I would get the impressions and not worry about my crowns coming off because this is not a very likely scenario.  In my ten plus years of providing cosmetic dentistry, I have never weakened or dislodged a patients crowns by taking an impression.  Your crowns were cemented to your teeth with permanent cement that should last 20-30 years with no problem.    Good luck and I hope this helps. Don't worry about this one... Removing old crowns is a daily occurrence for me and usually requires diamond cutting instruments in a high speed drill. Unless there is rampant decay under the crown, they won't come off with just an impression. Should a crown fall out, it can be easily recemented

It is highly unlikely that your crowns come off with an alginate impression for dental retainers . Unless the cement inside is temporary or your crowns feel loose, the front crowns should stay put. Even if the cement comes off with the impression, you are in the dentist chair and they can recement them. An impression is needed to make new ones!
