Is it okay for my gums to be separated after implant surgery? Also what is the white stuff? (photo)

No two surgeries are completely identical, so it would be best to consult with your dentist.It's not uncommon, however, to make an incision during implant surgery. Hi there!  It looks like the sutures (also known as stitches) have prematurely come loose so that your gum tissues are no longer in the correct position to heal properly.  I definitely recommend calling your dentist to go back in for them to re-suture everything back together.  The "white blob of stuff" is most likely normal healing tissue... kind of like a scab that is forming over.  Continue your regimen of antibiotics and definitely go back in for them to re-evaluate.  Hope this helps!
