I have implant surgery Friday morning. Today is Wednesday. My stiches have broke and my gums are separating. There is also a white blob of stuff that I don’t know what it is. Is the separation okay? Or normal?
Answer: Gum separation following surgery No two surgeries are completely identical, so it would be best to consult with your dentist. It's not uncommon, however, to make an incision during implant surgery. So this might give the appearance that there is a separation in the gums during the healing process.I hope you found this information will be helpful,Dr. Champagne

Answer: Go back to your doctor! Hi there! It looks like the sutures (also known as stitches) have prematurely come loose so that your gum tissues are no longer in the correct position to heal properly. I definitely recommend calling your dentist to go back in for them to re-suture everything back together. The "white blob of stuff" is most likely normal healing tissue... kind of like a scab that is forming over. Continue your regimen of antibiotics and definitely go back in for them to re-evaluate. Hope this helps!
