48 year old female with hair loss at temples. Can the location of hair loss point to a diagnosis (not center part)? (Photo)

History of acute stress 2 years prior. Loss of hair within last 1 year. Brother has full head of hair, mother has diffusely thin hair. Reviews here are from transplants only- I see little feedback from non-surgical therapies which is concerning, given I am not a candidate and wish to avoid becoming one. I seek a specialist that can diagnose my problem and diligently plot a course for regrowth. In OC, Ca.
