I have braces and my teeth have moved fairly quick, but I want to get into an acting and modeling agency and I don't really want to go with braces because I don't feel like there would be as many opportunities. My ortho has laced most of my bottom teeth and my four front teeth on top (I've only had braces for 10 months). if I went to Invisalign would it be "starting over" ? Also how much would it cost to make the switch? Are there any consequences that could effect me later in life? (Teeth moving later)
Answer: Braces and Invisalign Hi, its really nice to hear that you are trying into modelling. Invisalign can help in most cases of crowding or alignment correction at any stage. If you have already done 10 months with fixed braces, you would be even in a better position to have invisalign. It might be worth talking to your orthodontist and change into invisalign. Since he/she is already treating you with braces, the added costs and time will be much less.

Answer: Switching from braces to Invisalign Some patients do want to switch midway through fixed braces to a more cosmetic system; Invisalign being the best alternative. You would not be starting over again as many of the desired movements would have been done already. The brackets are removed giving you the joy of a relatively acceptable smile and then impressions are taken for Invisalign. The costs vary on how many aligners are required. In my experience no patient has regretted their decision.

Answer: Invisalign is just a different tool to achieve the same result essentially Invisalign and traditional braces can often achieve the same result. There is no harm in switching. However, there will be added cost as the manufacturing cost of Invisalign can be significant. Regardless of the treatment modality, just remember it is not the braces or the Invisalign that's treating your teeth, it is the doctor's skill that determines the success of a treatment. Always wear retainers to maintain the result regardless of how you were treated. Good luck!
