How should I approach my dentist? I'm not happy with my implant and crowns.

Call your dentists office and schedule an appointment!  Dentists are such caring people. That is why we go into health care!!  The crowns can be fixed to better mimic the temporaries you liked. Also, the tooth next to the implant may need to be adjusted as your bite could have changed after the implant crowns were placed. 

This situation occurs more than you think.  In my opinion I would call your  dentist and tell them that you are not happy with the results and would like to discuss your concerns with them.  Most if not all of us want to hear from our patients.  Give them a call

If you are not happy with the esthetics of your dental work, it is best to let the dentist know right away.  Particularly if you had crowns done.  Hopefully the crowns have not been cemented permanently and can still be removed and the shape/size/shade can be adjusted.  No need to sugar coat anything.  Most dentist will strive to make you happy with the esthetics of their dental work.  But if you don't say anything they will assume you are happy.  About the lack of support for your upper lip, this may be due to bone loss in the area?  Talk to your dentist about your concerns and ask him/her why things look the way they do.
