the answer is simply genetic, not related with hair cut. I think it is your own original hair line .If you want hair on sides , you may have a FUE hair  surgery to restore area .

All humans are slightly different, and that's a good thing.  I'd need to see your scalp up close and measure several angles between your eyes and ears to determine what is going on (I can't see the eyes in the photos). When it comes to the hairline at the sides of the scalp a few things need to be considered1. Was it always like this? There are a few hair loss conditions that can give changes in the sides of the scalp. Alopecia areata is one example. 2. Is it just a variation of normal? Is it just a haircut that resulted in this change?3. Finally, it's often forgotten, that some men have lower set ears. The hairline is fine. Whether or not a patient has low set ears can only be determined by examining the entire scalp and face together.
