Sexual activities after breast augmentation?

Since every surgeon has his or her own unique post op protocol, ask your surgeon. I typically advise my patients to avoid sex for the first two weeks and then to take it easy for the next two weeks. After 4 weeks, all bets are off. My best,

Generally speaking I tell my patients they can return to normal activity at the end of three weeks.  But definitely check with your surgeon and follow his/her advise.    Good Luck!

Your breasts may look like a masterpiece, but there’s no need to hang a “Please Don’t Touch the Art” sign on them. Breast augmentation is an investment that you can enjoy. There’s no need for a “You Break It, You Buy It” sign either. Your breast implants aren’t fragile. Ask your surgeon his or her opinion. I tell my patients that it’s best to wait at least three weeks before “being a little rough”; then be sure to listen to their body. Thank you for your question. This is an important question. Every surgeon has his or her protocol regarding this issue. Vigorous activity with breast handling is best to occur six weeks after the surgery. Sexual activity without handling the breasts aggressively may be able to occur as early as four weeks. This is something that you need to discuss with your plastic surgeon.

Hello, In general I want my patients to wait until 3 weeks before getting their heart rate up. Sex at 3 weeks is ok, but no "handling of the breast" Gently handing of the breast at 4-6 weeks is generally ok. Always go by your PS recommendations. Good Luck. 

Thanks for your question! This can be embarrassing to ask in person, but I imagine it is on the minds of a lot of my patients. I prefer my patients not to be involved in any activity that increases blood pressure or heart rate for 2-3 weeks after surgery. After that point I only restrict heavy lifting for patients with sub muscular implants. As far as sexual activity, I would advise you to let pain be your guide. It it is painful or uncomfortable you could cause swelling, bleeding or implant malposition. Your surgeon is the only one that knows the details of your procedure. You should take his/her advice over ours!

I would recommend you follow up with your plastic surgeon as each surgeon has their own specific post op protocol for their respective patients.  Your surgeon is your best resource because he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you are healing at this time.

Your plastic surgeon will give you the best answer in your specific case about this and sex. For most of my patients I allow sex to begin at 6 weeks with the woman on top to minimize the risk of trauma. Here are some of the guidelines I give my patients following breast lipofilling: Following surgery, you will be walking in a bent-over position to keep tension off the newly tightened skin incision site. Although strenuous activity, and lifting more than twenty pounds, must be avoided for 6 weeks, some people can return to work and daily activities as soon as 2 weeks after surgery. Softening of the surgical scars, return of sensation, and improvement of shape may take several months to a year or more. Light activity is comfortable in 10-20 days. No sports or heavy lifting for 6 weeks or more – please discuss with your doctor for specific questions.#breastaugmentation#sexaftersurgery

Every office is going to have different
protocol. We recommend no sexual activities for the first two weeks after
surgery, but I am well aware that this admonition is frequently ignored. Having
said that, my recommendation is wait two weeks before resuming sexual
activities but take care. Four weeks after surgery you should have no
restrictions whatsoever.
