When undergoing a hair transplant, what contributes the most to a succesful outcome? Is it the skill and experience of the doctor, is it the team doing the channels, is it the actual placement of the new hair? Why do they boast such a high level of success in Turkey compared to US? Thank you
Answer: Everything always matters It is always the combination of everything because truly everything matters for the success rates of your grafts. The doctor will need to supervise and make sure everything happens in its correct order and also the placement of grafts and design of hairline is age and sex appropriate. the technicians have to place the grafts in correct places and with correct densities. I don't think there is one country that does hair grafts better than another, there are alwaysindividual team and also individual patient variations in terms of surgical success. and this goes for every type of surgery actually.

Answer: Hair transplant Thank you for your question. In Turkey, we use the FUE technique, which is a detailed process and requires extensive experience on the part of the surgeon. This procedure involves removing hair follicles from the donor site and transplanting them to the recipient site.It is a minimally invasive and safest technique. One of the main reasons for its popularity is that it leaves minimal scars and has a shorter recovery time compared to other treatment options. It is performed under local anesthesia so you will be very comfortable during the process. Make sure you have a detailed consultation with your surgeon prior to your surgery. Best wishes.

Answer: Its more than one thing There are several factors that lead to optimizing success in a hair transplant, and some of those factors are different for individual patients. This is why one of the most important factors is selecting a knowledgable, experienced doctor who is really dedicated to hair RESTORATION, rather than just hair transplantation. Restoration may include transplantation, non-surgical treatments, or a combination of both. Some factors contributing to a successful outcome include: 1. Patient selection. Several aspects individual to a given patient are important in a good outcome, such as the available yield in their donor area, their degree of hair loss, and their expectations. For example, a patient with very advanced hair loss and a poor donor area hoping for thick, full scalp density with a hairline of a 20 year old is going to be disappointed in the outcome, no matter what was promised to them. 2. Patient expectations. A patient should have realistic expectations of what hair restoration can achieve for them. Being dishonest with yourself about what can be achieved will lead to a disappointing outcome. 3. A skilled surgeon. Surgical skill can make a difference in hairline design, healing, graft survival, graft placement, density, and patient selection and expectations. 4. A skilled team. Hair transplant surgery is a team sport, with everyone contributing something important. An inexperienced team, or a team that is not invested in your outcome, can lead to a sub-optimal result. 5. Attention to supportive non-surgical treatments. Ongoing hair loss, and the lack of effort in restoring existing hair, can lead to an overall poor result, especially with time. Your hair transplant surgeon should discuss these non-surgical options with you in detail so you can make an informed choice. There are many more factors, too numerous to list here. My general recommendation is to choose an experienced doctor who's practice is dedicated solely to all aspects of hair restoration. Ask some basic questions about their approach to hair restoration and go from there.

Answer: The secret sauce of a hair transplant The secret sauce is a mix of the properly selected patient, the properly selected doctor with a good team. The properly selected patient is incredibly important and often a neglected factor. Patients too young or patients with the wrong set of expectations of patients with any other hair disease or disorder besides androgenetic alopecia are heading for trouble. The skill of the surgeon and his team is critical. There are 10 key steps in hair transplantation and it’s possible to perform this steps with various levels of proficiency. A very good surgeon with a team that has little experience will lead to poor results for the patient. A poor surgeon with a very good team will also lead to suboptimal results. Hair transplant industry is a “buyer beware “ and “do your homework “ industry. Ideally, a solid referral from other patients who have had success or other doctors who have had good outcomes for their patients goes a long way. One needs to make sure those referring doctors and patients don’t have a conflict of interest (receive renumeration for the referral etc). It is a very challenging field to navigate for patients.
