Is the hair loss induced by too much kenalog permanent? (Photo)

Kenalog can cause hair loss in rare cases. It’s temporary. My concern with the photos here is that a diagnosis is being missed. I can’t say for sure as the photos are blurry but there is more redness and folliculitis here in these photos than we typically see in alopecia areata. If things don’t improve, be sure to see a dermatologist for a biopsy to rule out scarring alopecia. Yes, it’s absolutely possible for kenalog to cause some temporary hair loss but I’m wondering if actually something completely different is going on and a diagnosis like scarring alopecia could be in evolution. If things don’t improve be sure to have an expert assessment and discuss the relevance of a scalp biopsy. I doubt kenalog is the main issue here.
