In 2015 I had the DIEP Flap procedure. Due to a weakening of the fascia I now have a prominent and off centered bulge. Several surgeons have told me the only repair is the placement of mesh in my abdomen. Completely unrelated, but now I need a hysterectomy. I was wondering if both these procedures can be performed at the same time.

Thanks for posting a photo. I'm not sure how long ago the operation was done and that can have an impact on appearance. In general, it takes about 6 weeks for what we call "full recovery" which means that the wound site is at about 98% of original strength. In reality, it takes about 12 months...
There is risk of strangulation with hernias, this is why repair of symptomatic hernias are recommended. however, having a hernia isn't something that should prevent you from flying home, and taking care of the hernia at home. if you had your repair outside the country, consider follow up issues...
