I finished invisaline treatment about 6 months ago. After a month with a retainer I was told that I could move to wearing the retainer only at night, but I have to wear them fairly often because my teeth just keep shifting and aching. I asked my orthodontist this past week and he said I'd been wearing my retainers too much. I was originally told there was no such thing as wearing them too much by employees in his office and I can't find any support for what he's said.

Answer: Invisalign Retainers- How long should they be worn?
Hi, my name Is Dr. Ken Barton, I am an Invisalign Premiere Provider Elite, and practice in Matawan. Because you want to use the space, created by the extraction of your extra tooth, properly to straighten your Adjacent teeth it is best to start treatment A.S.A.P. Best of luck.
As the majority of your attachments are placed on surfaces of your teeth, where they are accessible to the normal cleansing action of your lips, cheeks, and tongue, this is not too likely. That being said, it is still advisable to clean your teeth after each and every meal.
