I consulted a plastic surgeon because I was thinking fillers for my nasolabial folds, but his opinion for my case is to have threads to my nasolabial folds. Thank you!
Answer: NovaThreads for Nasolabial Folds Thank you for your question and photo! The NovaThreads procedure is an innovative treatment that amplifies your face and body's own rejuvenating powers, and would be a great option to lift and rejuvenate your nasolabial folds for a youthful appearance. NovaThreads are needles that are pre-loaded with what is called a PDO suture. The absorbable sutures, originally developed for heart surgery, lifts and provides structure underneath the skin and encourages your body to begin developing collagen and elastin. The collagen production occurs once your face reacts to the sutures and kick starts a selective inflammatory response that is harnessed as a natural rejuvenation process. Be sure to consult with an expert, board-certified facial plastic surgeon to further assess your area(s) of concern and determine if the results you desire can be accomplished to your expectations. Thank you for your time. Dr. Kian Karimi

Answer: Laugh Lines / Nasolabial Folds - Fillers + Sculptra, Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, Radiofrequency, Peels, Skin Care I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting, and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. I suggest seeing a facial sculpting expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Thread lift for Nasolabial folds Hi there and thanks for your question and photo! Although it is difficult to determine based on one photo, it appears that you would benefit from a simple thread lift. A thread lift uses an absorbable barbed or coned suture placed under the skin to lift the cheek, nasolabial fold, and jowl. Although the sutures dissolve over time, collagen forms around the suture to maintain the lift. I suggest using an experienced injector to ensure the best possible results. Hope this helps!

Answer: Threads vs. filler My my opinion, based on your photograph you appear to be generally volume depleted. You're more likely to see benefit with fillers in this case, although threads can be used to augment your results. Threads would be an appropriate treatment if you felt you needed lift in your cheeks as well as softening of the nasolabial fold, but it appears your cheek is somewhat deflated and needs volume there as well. So I would probably start with fillers and see how well that works 1st and considerthreads as an adjunctive treatment.

Answer: Thread Lift Thank you for your photo. I recommend using Nova Threads which are dissolvable polydioxanone (PDO) threads made from the same dissolving material as surgical sutures. Nova Threads are placed beneath the skin to provide a support structure for new collagen growth while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They don’t migrate or show thru the skin. We use Nova Threads to treat lower face skin laxity and facial wrinkles such as marionette lines, nasolabial folds and laugh lines. For more information please make sure you a get a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
