I'm 5 weeks post breast reduction. Last night a friend hugged me very hard squeezing my breasts. Will there be damage?

Since you are 5 weeks post op the internal damage was probably minimal if any. Tenderness is common after breast reduction for up to several months anyway. If there is no external evidence of injury there should be no "permanent" damage to your result. You should probably take it easy for a few days just to let the discomfort resolve (& maybe stay away from your friend a little longer!).

Fortunately at 5 weeks out from surgery you are mostly healed. You can sometimes cause a minor amount of tissue trauma such as tearing of the scar tissue, and that may explain some of your soreness. As long as there is no opening or separation of your incisions or swelling of one breast a lot larger than the other that would indicate bleeding, you are most likely just fine. Be sure to warn any overzealous friends in the future from hugging you too hard!

Congratulations on having undergone the breast reduction procedure. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. Given that there is no "external" evidence of injury, it is unlikely that there has been any "damage" done internally. Again, best to follow up with your plastic surgeon.In the meantime, I will suggest that you "take it easy" when it comes to alcohol consumption and/or physical contact/activity. Best wishes.
