I chipped my tooth and I'm pretty sure that the chipped piece is in my upper lip. Is this a problem?

I chipped my tooth and I'm pretty sure that the chipped peice is in my upper lip, will the body break the peice down or eject it. If not should I get it removed even if it's causing no pain or discomfort.
