Dental Implant or post and core? What is the best option for a broken canine tooth? 25 y/o female (photos)

My upper canine tooth is broken but the root is still intact. The x-ray shows that the roots are healthy and strong. I have been given options between a post and core treatment and a dental implant. My question is - is it wise to save whatever is left of the teeth and go for post and core? In case I go for post and core will there be a possibility of its failure in future? If it fails what options will I be left with? Or is it better to directly go with an implant now? I am a 25years old female

I am happy you are worried about your natural tooth. The best option is post and core. If it fails in the future, You have a choice of an implant at that time. Always take implants as a last option, because there is no option after that.

Based on the photos, it appears that the tooth is missing a lot of healthy tooth structure. You can try to restore the tooth with a root canal/buildup/crown. However, because there is limited tooth structure remaining it can make the tooth more susceptible to fracturing in the future. An implant, although a little longer of a treatment option, will give you a better long term outcome. It also saves you the time and cost of trying to restore the tooth and ultimately still needing an implant in the future.
