Have been encouraged to wear a binder prior to umbilical hernia repair - which is better a binder or waist trainer?

Question: GS recommended a binder prior to surgery, trying to find the right one. Background: umbilical hernia from pregnancy, was fixed during a skin sparing mastectomy and DIEP Flap recon in May 2021. Sent home with binders, they wore out quickly. Nov 2021. Plastic surgeon referred me for CT, multiple hernias under the newly constructed belly button. I have been encouraged to wear a binder and stretch prior to surgery (Apr 2022) , which is better, binder or waist trainer.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
