I have a small incisional hernia that just appeared inside my bellybutton. It's retractable & goes in on it's own when I'm lying down. Hardly noticeable. I had 1 surgery in my life, laproscopic gallbladder removal (7 yrs ago). I'm concerned about going to a general surgeon for this & losing bellybutton. I also worry about radically changing appearance of bellybutton. Is this something a plastic surgeon should do instead? Should I put off surgery in general since it is so small/no symptoms?

Answer: Recommend seeing a plastic surgeon for this case
Dear Girlmamabearx3,
it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
