Redness and itchy skin after laser hair removal? (photos)

Question

I have done the laser hair removal on my back. I the last sessions that I did the laser it became red and itchy and also discomfort. I am writing to ask for your help and advise what is the cause and does it go away and what sort of treatment is helpful to get rid of redness and avoid the change of skin color. I have attached a photo here under for your review and advise.

It is actually quite common for patients to experience swelling, itching and redness after a laser hair removal treatment. Taking an antihistamine with a topical steroid can decrease these symptoms, and they should resolve over time. Be sure to make your provider aware of this experience before your next treatment.  I hope this is helpful information, and thank you for your question.

Thank you for your question. It is common to experience some swelling, itchness and redness after laser hair removal and this is usually due to irritation of the hair follicles. You can take an antihistamine and apply hydrocortisone to help relieve the redness and itching. I recommend following up with your treating physician. Best of Luck!
